Study summary
This study dealt with ethical and legal challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence in fighting and combating crime by reviewing studies on the subject in countries that have made progress in the use of smart technology in the areas of life, including the fight against crime. in order to alert and highlight these challenges and make proactive recommendations that contribute to an effective balance between the use of smart technology and respect for human rights in Palestinian society in the event of the widespread use of such technology in various areas of their lives.
The main challenge in using artificial intelligence to combat and fight crime is how to strike a balance between utilizing this innovative technology to improve security and public safety, and ensuring and safeguarding individuals' rights and adherence to ethical standards and laws. The study aimed to analyze the ethical and legal standards associated with the use of artificial intelligence in the fight against crime, as well as demonstrate the importance of developing transparent standards and effective accountability mechanisms to ensure the ethical use of artificial intelligence in the fight against crime and make recommendations to legislators and policymakers in Palestinian society on improving laws and regulations to better guide the use of smart technologies.
The study concluded that the use of artificial intelligence in the fight against crime requires the provision of an ethical framework and legal legislation that ensures a balance between benefits and risks and that the required balance of benefits and risks can be achieved through the development of transparent ethical and legal standards and effective accountability mechanisms through cooperation between Governments, rights organizations and ethics experts, There is also a need to enhance public awareness of the importance of these ethics and laws.
